Question....(not sure of the topic)

I am making a template for an eBay ad.

I want to incorporate something like the iPix that eBay provides for the bottom of their ads.

What I want to do is have a main area (a big area of a table) and smaller cells on each side of it, when a person clicks on a thumbnail in any of these cells I want it to appear larger in the big cell.

Does this make sense?!

If anyone knows how this can be done please point me in the right direction. I have messed with bookmarks a little to no avail.
