    Post Tag's

How do I enter keyword tags into the HTML of pages. I read briefly about this so that search engines could categorise your site, but cant remember the detail.

    Cheers

What you need is a "Meta" Tag.

Also, keep in mind that if you are using newer HTML coding software ... ie. Front Page, Hot Metal, Net Objects, Flash, etc, you can insert the Meta Tags right into it. In addition to Meta Tags, don't forget to write a description of the site. Keep in mind a commun mistake is to over input your site to the new generation of search engines. The new generation of engines actually perform better if you don't over enter your site to them constantly.

    Hope it helps.

Thanks for the help. I started using Front Page, and Dreamweaver, but am beginning to open my files in notepad in an attempt to learn HTML. I'm no great webmaster yet, but am really enjoying learning.

    Again, thanks for the help.

Scuba ... it is nice that you are an HTML guru. I to started way back then using NotePad, Netscape Composer, etc. But I just hate it when people like you knock other people down because of the software they use. If you are not aware, it is the year 2001, and yes, many changes have happened since the 80s' in the HTML industry. Now we use other software to make our lives easier and be more productive. Bottom line is, the more professional looking sites you bang out, the more money you should have in order to keep up with the industry and to advance your business. Professional HTML designers use ALL the available tools we have available. If you are not aware, ALL tools have weak points and strong points. It is people like you, that critize others, that you see out in public talking behind people's back. So get with the times and let other people be.

    Hope it helps YOU

PS ... let me know if you need any further help utilizing any HTML editors.
