What the......?
Office 97 on NT 4 SP6a.
Word just decided that it only had Times New Roman font. All the fonts are in the fonts folder. Excel is fine, it can use them all. But Word won't. Did a complete uninstall and reinstall. Same thing though. WTF?!?!?! Anyone seen this?

Have you tried using the OffClean utility in %cdrom%\valupack\offclean? Do the full install, then run OffClean, then reinstall. That utility has saved my butt more often than I'd like to admit..

Ok, well then.. Let's try this.. Create a new folder in the C drive, move all the fonts from c:\winnt\fonts to the temp folder. Then, in c:\winnt\fonts, go to the file menu and select "Install New Font".. Point it to the new folder you created and let the system reinstall all those fonts.
While doing this, please keep a few fingers crossed.
