I don't think that Outlook 2000 supports hotmail retrieval. Outlook Express does.

Do I need to have outlook and outlook express installed on my computer then? That's lame that the non-express version doesn't have all the features of it's free version. I was hoping there would be a patch or a program someone knows of to enable hotmail service in outlook.

As I understand it, the HotMail support in Outlook Express is strictly beta software. Somedays it works and somedays it doesn't. My wife and I tried to use it but it was very unreliable, so we check our HotMail the old fashioned way

FYI, where I work some of the employees wanted to have work email forwarded to hotmail so they could check it anywhere. In the local office, outlook express would work with hotmail about half of the time. It's not a supported feature. Hotmail doesn't use POP, so it's a PITA. Switch to yahoo, they use a pop server and have 3 times the mailbox capacity. Or, just check your hotmail with IE.
