Outlook 'pauses' while attaching from a network drive
I recently migrated to windows and office 2000,and exchange 5.5 whenever I try to attach a file to an e-mail that is located on a network share, I get a 30 second pause between double clicking on the object and it appearing as an attachment in the letter. Has anyone seen this before, or have any ideas?????? TIA

I would assume this is the time it takes Outlook to grab the fie on the network drive, copy it locally in its temp space and make the attachement.
Keep in mind, you are attaching the file, meaning sending it as part of your message, not just a link.
Try with a local (C: drive) file and see how long it takes. (should be a lot shorter)
