Locking off a document...
Hi all,
A nice simple question. How can I stop persons from editing a document. It's a *.ppt manual which is being run from the local HDD. I really dont want it copied, modified, edited or anything...I cant see this happening but I thought I would ask anyway.
Thanks in advance
Yoshie

Depends what O/S you're using
If you are using an O/S that support NTFS, simply edit the permissions on the document (or the folder) allowing read only to the users/groups you want - keep Full Control for yourself or the Administrator though
If you don't have folder level permissions available to you, I don't know how you can secure the presentation. Setting its file properties to Read Only is not secure. Perhaps someone else will be able to help.
Good luck

You could click file - send to - MS Word, then use the save options to set a password to modify. Its read only unless some one has the password.
