ATI and MS messenger
I have XP and an ATI all in wonder graphics card. When trying to use the video conferencing in net meeting, the capture device will not function. I also remember last year trying to use the card with Net Meeting, and it was not recognised then. Is there a fundamental incompatibilty between microsoft and the ATI card?
TIA

ati tv wonder and msn messanger
i've got an ati tv wonder capture card and windows xp. yahoo messanger will recognize it as a webcam input source but msn messanger's webcam feature doesn't even acknowledge it as an imaging device. i've gone into windows xp's control panel and tried to add the ati card as an imaging device but it tells me that the ati wdm drivers don't fit the hardware i'm trying to add as an imaging device. is there any way i can tell windows xp that my capture card is as good as a webcam? hell, it'll recognize my scanner as an imaging device but i'm not about to scan my face for a netmeeting conference! hehe get back to me at [email protected]
thanks,
-mike
ps - yes, i've checked all the ati and ms forums and no one knows what the hell i'm talking about - help!

Driver Terrier
I had this with the creative webcam
To get the creative driver to do what its supposed to do, disable the rage theatre in device manager.
What is happening is that windows is trying to initialise the all in wonder stuff as a webcam - what it should be doing is initialising the webcam capture engine....
Upshot, you cannot watch video in/tv while using your webcam. Annoying... but the only work around I found that doesnt lock the machine solid.
