Post Radeon 7000/VE

I am running an Athalon 1.2GHz with 1.14 gig DDR ram...(in case it's pertinent to the answer)..and I just "upgraded" from a voodoo3 to this 64MB Radeon 7000/VE dual display driver. The driver installation CD they gave me doesn't seem to work. After installing the drivers, the default was set at 16-colors and 640X480, and any setting I tried to change it to, I would get an error message : Severe: either display adapter is wrong, or settings won't work with your current hardware. Any suggestions?

I would hit Radeon's web site and get the newest drivers.

What OS are you using? If it's XP the drivers may not be out yet. Contact ATI's website for updated drivers for the card and see if they work.

XP supports all the ATI Radeons natively....There is a known problem getting those drivers into Win98....It's been awhile since I've had to do it so I don't recall the exact steps. You might try the forums at Rage3d. They specialize in ATI cards.

    Sowulo to the rescue.

Still - how are you running a 98 machine with over 512 megs of ram? It should be giving you all sorts of errors and problems.

Not necessary errors, but at least a huge performance hit.
