Flabooble!
matrox 2500
My roomie is thinking of getting a Matrox 2500 and I was wondering if anyone has worked with one and if they liked/hated it. He notes that it has dual monitor support but I do not see on the website where it has that. Anyone know if it does?

Are you refering to Matrox RT2500 or some new G2500 that I am not awere of....
the RT2500 is a video capturing editing card that does not come with a display card.
you can use it with any display card that you like. Matrox or non Matrox.
Supposed to be a very good card.

If he is looking at the card primarily for the dual monitors support; may I suggest using two video cards instead. To quote Sowulo “. . .I’ve always preferred to let windows handle the dual displays, eliminating another application standing in between the OS and the output.” Or something like that. I took his advice and am now using dual monitors with two video cards.
I have always heard good things about Matrox cards, the only exeception would be my uncle. He has a Matrox card running dual monitors and has some complaints – new windows open between the monitors, etc.
Just my .02¢
Back to the original question, I do not believe the RT2500 supports dual displays.

The RT2500 is a editing card only.
It will work with any display card you will trow at it.
The RT2000 used to come with a special version of the Matrox G400Max display card, and was working only with it and had dual monitor support.
Both cards are known to be good for the money.
