Sure you can chase after all of those Spy/Adware.
or you can use a scanner that will remove it for you (very much like a viruscanner).
I use AD-Aware from lavasoft - It's free and efficient.

Yea, but most P2P programs check to make sure that the spyware is still on your system. If it detects that the spyware has been removed it usually won't work...
Thats where the fake DLLs come in
