    Question which modem

After reformating a friends packard pc. I am having a few problems. It has a small internal modem (the bios says it is a ac'97 modem not a pci modem) but windows doesn't detect the modem so i cant get it installed. My friend no longer has any disks for the pc so i am stuck as to what modem is inside the pc and what driver to use. It is a 3 year old pc.

On the modem i found the following numbers
    050523600
    acsc93707148
    194v8
    cc168x
    6765590000

the pc has gigabyte i810 motherboard
    433 mhz intel celeron processor
    64 mb ram
    pioneer dvd rom dvd-113
    6.2 gb hard drive
win 95 upgraded to win 98
    ambi bios version 1.17 8-19-99

What's the model # of the PB?
Can you get any numbers (anything) off the larger chips on it?
I can do a hunt for whatever the original equipment is, and probably find some sort of driver.
Is it a combo card, or is it onboard (or sort of plugged into the mainboard, but not in an ISA or PCI slot)?
Lots of PB's came with "no name" modems, but usually had a Rockwell chipset, although sometimes PCTel 789T's and the odd Lucent.

    Question

I have worked out it is an onboard modem. I have checked the bios and it is enabled. In the bios it is listed as an ac'modem. Can't find any fcc code for the modem. It is on a gigabyte i810 mother board with intel 810 chipset. It is 3 years old and made by packard bell. I live in England and have e-mailed packard bell uk support but so far the only reply I have had is an acknowledgement of my e-mail but no support. Many thanks
