Board won't boot with new CPU.

I have a Commate S7SXB motherboard and according to it's manual it will support up and including an AMD K6-2 400mhz. On one webpage I came across it had had the latest update to the manual and it said it would support up to a K6-3 600mhz. I'm not sure how accurate that statement is however. Anyway my problem is that I cannot get the board to boot up with anything other than my Pentium 233 MMX or my Pentium 200 (non-MMX). The first chip I tried was a K6-2 350mhz and it would not work, so I figured either the chip was fried or I had the board jumpered wrong. I checked the jumpers several times and they were set correctly so I figured the chip was fried. Since then I have tried a K6-2 400mhz and just today, a K6-2 300mhz. Yet the board will not boot with anything other than my 2 Pentiums in it. I have checked and re-checked the jumper settings for both core voltage and BUS speed for all the CPUs and I have made no error on that end. Does anyone have a clue as to what the problem could be? According to the book it should support all socket 7 processors up to 400mhz, but it will not boot (in boot I mean, give me video or read from the drive, the CPU cooler and drives will power on though.) with anything it seems over 233mhz. This is really starting to get on my nerves, please help. In case anyone is wondering, both the board and the CPUs I have tried are brand new. Thank you for any help you can offer. have you flashed to the latest Bios?

if not , go here:

bear in mind , that a bios flash may not always work , and , if anything happens , your board becomes a large paper weight.

did you try the fsb for the k6-2 300 at 66? and the k62-400 at 95?

Also - you might have to clear your CMOS (check your manual for procedure) - sometimes there is a setting in the BIOS that may be changed for the old type of processor that will prevent the new one from working.

Thanks for the help, the problem just turned out to be that the other procesoors I was trying were fried.. strange, but that's what it was. I not ave a k6-2 500 in and running perfectly.
