Games Under WinXP
I know that I've personally had to deal with Slave Zero not working under WinXP, so there must be others with similar situations.
Has anyone else encountered games which did not run under WinXP and had no official patches or updates to correct the problem?
...and does anyone have a brilliant ideas on how to go around it?

Well..I play Final Fantasy 7 in XP...after a while the textures become garbled. This is a sign that the computer is feeding bad data into the video memory(or other memory where the texture is stored). If this happens there isn't much you can do. I just restart and its good for a while longer.

Worst one I've seen so far is with Operation Flashpoint played multiplayer over LAN. If you have machines running both XP and 98, the OS type not running the server will dump out of the game after a period of time. It's very frustrating if you've laid heaps of mines, taken out 5 Tanks and are sitting in a nice sniper location(SVD Dragonov rocks) waiting for the enemy troops to arrive and the game suddenly quits.
I don't use Windows XP because dual boot 98SE and Win2k works perfectly for me.

hey i really miss that game warcraft 2, its was a dos based game back in its time.
i tried to install it when i had win2k, my sound card wasnt detected so i got no sound and my mouse would only work on the upper half of the screen.i just updates but no luck , updates do nothing
my guess was it was dos based. now i have winXP pro.
i would really like to play that game again. im sure if i install it on my xp it would most likely do the same. would you guys know of a way to make i work or do they sell updated copies at the store?
i have warcraft2 when it first came out

I had a tough enough time getting WarCraft to work under Win98SE. It really should be run in DOS mode natively without Windows at all.
