Not that I wouldnt want to go to a LAN party.
But I would rather host one cause I wanna wear the PJs and be totally comfortable. You know using someones bathroom and all that stuff.

It has been a thought of mine for a while now, never been to one, but I would like to host one in my area. My biggest drawback is whether or not it will go smoothly....

I just set the date for my second one that I've hosted. Gonna be May 25th, if anyone around Central PA is interested, you are more than welcome.
Last one I had about 50 people here and I'm shooting for more this time around.

A couple friends of mine and I used to do that on a monthly basis.
We would never know what we were going to play until after we were all set up.
The favorites were:
Baulder's Gate
Starcraft
Doom
Carmageddon 2

Been to one lan party. I think that bad thing is bringing in the monitor...
It was my first time playing quake3 and I smooked them ahha
150-10 in an hour hehe we had some super heros mod on... was very ez with it, if you picked the right super powers (which I did)
but with everyone having broad band theres no need for lan parties anymore for me. We will just do WAN parties

I would politely ask people to donate money to help supply new hardware. Cable, switches, *cough* GeForce4 *cough, cough*

You know what I was telling Taz.. Im surprise that they havent come out with something yet to make travel to a LAN party easy.. I mean the moving the monitor and case and all.
I have a huge suitcase I thought that might do it. But I think something similar to a suitcase stroller would be neat but geared for the gamers.

I charged $5 at the door for the last one and I think I lost money. I provided soda, pizza, and prizes for the three official tournaments.
This time around I'm gonna either have to charge $10 at the door, or not do prizes. I haven't yet decided.

A friend of mine sent me a link to a LAN party that is sponsored . 30$ CAN (~45$ US) for entering, 50 players maximum, food provided (4 meals), 18 hours of fragging, XBox to the overall best player and cash prizes to other qualifiers.
Maybe that will give you some ideas, Milenko.
If you do host another one, will the Q3 server be open to the Internet as well? I think you tried to do something like that last time, no?
