Ill give it another try ,I guess we have it installed on the better computer and Ill see what I think of it again.
I love the guns in Quake and the graphics look smooth.
Ill give it a go today and see what I think.
Till then Quake is my fav. most like will be but I can give some UT a little time today for a second look.

UT's graphics suck, and I'll give you that, nobody plays UT for the graphics. It's for the gameplay.

Now when UT2003 comes out, we will have both...

BTW, reminds me of a comic I read on "Penny Arcade"...

"Wow, those Doom 3 demos sure looked amazing."

"Yeah. I can't wait until someone actually makes a good game with it."

Oh wait - that's pretty much the only way that UT can competition against Q3, isn't it?

Ok we could revert and compare The Original Quake to the Original Unreal....Unreal all the way... But truthfully, if you put UT up against Q3, graphic wise, Q3 takes the nod there. But flat out gameplay, UT takes the trophy...

The graphics on it are all in what you make of them. Crank the color depth to 32 bit up the res to anything above 1024x768 turn textures up and character detail up oh yeah and dont forget that the second disc is where all the graphics are...its the disc with teh compressed textures. So, it has better graphics, but it comes default at lower settings. As for it being dark...thats what the brightness bar is for

Ive seen the textures and tweaked it all, but in my opinion Quake 3 has the better graphics, lots more "eye candy". I have seen some very impressionable maps for UT, but we are talking "Out of the Box" arent we??

I am a DIEHARD UT FREAK. I tried Q3 last night and many it is pretty kool. Quake engine is smooth, fast and gfx are killer.I think comparing the 2 is still not fair.No doubt Q3 is more advanced but hopefully UT2k3 will blow the doors off. They both have there great points as well as their weak. I am still a UT fan with the enjoyment of experiencing others. Can't we all just get along???..HAAHHAAHAH....PEACE

UT IMO has the best textures and the level designs are more condusive to game play. I also think the engine for UT rips Q3's engine up. Its all in the resource stats. The weapons in UT have a much better variety of uses and you can adopt many more styles of playing. I also think the weapons in UT are more condusive to a team play environment as far as team members playing offensive or defensive roles.

OKAY HERES THE LOWDOWN

I played some UT the other day on a better computer then when I first played it ..
Graphics looked a lot better and the maps were all WAY COOL ... Liked all the weapons...
BUT .........The movement is just to shoty..
It cant compare with the Quake play...
UT can be a even better game if the movement was a little faster and smoother.
