I was stuck where you were for the LONGEST time Webbie.
I recently installed the GeForce 3 AND the 80 gig 7200RPM ATA133 hard drive on the other computer and Jedi Knight 2 purrs like a kitten!! Now I can actually play the game without the cutscenes chugging. I am up to the level where you are looking for the garbage guy, the one after you get your light saber back.
This game rocks!

fantastic looking game - nice on the ati 8500 with lots of fsaa enabled. puzzles are good - not too hard and break up the game just the right amount.
main problem - its a bit short, and way way too easy, even on jedi master skill level. i found i have to invent rules for myself - eg Im not allowed to use force speed when fighting enemy jedi just to make the game slightly more challenging.
best part - unlike jedi knight 1 it is acutally possible to complete the game using nothing other than your lightsaber (once you have your lightsaber that is...)

I'm puttin along with my GF2 and my WD ATA66 20GB 7200rpm hdd. It's not too bad as long as I'm indoors, but man o man!! Some of those scenes just tax the hell out of my vid card.

But yeah, WTG on finishing the game. I have mine set to just Jedi level right now. And I do see what you mean about just using the lightsaber. Since I got mine, I've been trying to only use it (afterall, I am a Jedi aren't I?) Anyway, but you do have to use the gun sometimes. How can you use a lightsaber when you got 6 snipers throwing grenades at your azz and Stormtroopers shooting at your from the sides. You gotta use force speed and a gun for the snipers, then lightsaber to wipe out the Storm Troopers imo (just for example).

LOL!
i just use speed and then jump around a lot for the snipers...
maybe a bit of mind trick as well (longest range of any of the forces)
grenades can be thrown back with force push, and just holding the lightsaber will cause the storm troopers to shoot themselves, but i do admit that it is sometimes easier to use the guns.

agree with force push for grenades and other explosive projectiles. As far as snipers, force see will let you dodge their shots. But damn its great watching the snipers disentrigrate when you snipe them.

I finally made it to the end. All I have left is to beat Desann. I've tried a few times already, but that guy is one badazz mutha! It's probably gonna take me some time to get past him, but this game is as good as over as far as I'm concerned. What a great game. I think I might have to go back and play again on Jedi Master level next. That should keep me busy for quite some time.
