    Post something fubar on q3

Everytime I go to run quake 3 arena I get no servers on the multiplayer page. Yes I am on the internet and connected and all that, I've downloaded and installed all the newest patches and point releases and nothing changes. I have made sure to disconnect zone alarm and set the game to look for internet, same results. After all that I even went out and bought a retail copy of the game , still no internet servers. I know they are out there cause I look on gamespy and there are tons listed. Any ideas?

    1.31 is the latest.....

Do you have any problems connecting to any other networkable online games?

Can you connect to any servers manually? Click specify and type in quake3.king-nerd.com. This will let us know if q3 is recognizing your net connection at all.

    First of all..... what OS?

Second of all.... I had a similar problem when I installed Win2k with Gamespy.

Give us a run down of your system and OS. You may try uninstalling Quake 3 and version 1.31 and reinstalling it.

What TAZ and milenko say is good... also, try re-entering the key to see if that does anything.

Don't forget to specify your connection under "network", in case you haven't yet

Are you using the Quake 3 multiplayer list? IF you have the pack that comes with team fortress, I would suggest installing team fortress just for its multiplayer interface. It is much cleaner and less confusing. Also, are you clicking "refresh list" or "get new list"? Also, is the source set to internet or mplayer? Make sure it is set to internet. I know you have probably tried all these, but sometimes it's the little things....

It isn't the NIC drivers, it's an intel btw. I have the game set to internet and I have set my network settings. The only problem left that I really see is damn starband giving me **** upload speeds so it makes it right next to impossible to play

Dude, because the NIC is an Intel dont mean nothing. LOL It just means its overpriced. We got Linksys in the two machines here and we got solid connections.
