a fps peripheral that could replace a keyboard.
I am looking for a device that will put all the commands for a first person shooter in one area, so I would not need the keyboard.
I know that <a href="http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/sidewinder/devices/SComm/SComm_Overview.asp" target="_blank">microsoft</a> has one and also <a href="http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=&Section_Id=2 071&pcount=&Product_Id=107727&Section.Section_Path =//Root/Nostromo...ingTools/" target="_blank">Belkin</a> has one also. Has anyone used ether of these poducts or is there a better one out there?

I haven't heard of any other similar products and I've been having my eye on the Belkin for a while. I need all the help I can get with FPS games.

I've tried different joysticks and other such devices in FPS games, but nothing works as good for me as mouse and keyboard. But I remap all the keys to correspond to the number pad so I only need one hand on the keyboard. 8,4,6,2 move, the rest of the keys surrounding those are mapped to different weapon selects, use item function, etc. On the mouse, I have right click as jump and left click as fire.

Ditto CC, I see no replacement for the KB/Mouse config as far as versatility goes for some time.

I just happen to see the belkin and it looked like a cool Idea. But I was not sure if I wanted to spend the money. Maybe I will stick to the keyboard. Thanks

Well I just ordered the Belkin SpeedPad, so I'll let you know how I like it.

Firingsquad reviewed the belkin a while ago. They said they didn't like the feel, the wrist rest was uncomfortable, and the drivers for it conflicted with their mouse. Oh well
