XP updates
I am getting ready to update my current computer with a new M/B, CPU and HD. I want to know if I can save the "critical updates"that I have,so I wont have to download them on my 56k modem again. I am hoping to burn them onto a CD-R, install XP, and install the updates. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dan

Probably not - some of the hotfixes listed in add/remove programs might still be in the temporary files - do a search for the hotfix names - making sure you search hidden and system files....
All you can do is use the manual download site for the nest time this is the one for xp pro

Noo Noo, thanks for the reply, I was afraid this was the case. I'll have to check with the boss to see if I bring the computer in to work and "borrow" the T-1 connection and get my updates.... if the IT guru will allow me network access...
Thanks again,
Dan
