I do it like this :

white-orange, orange, white-blue, green, white-green, blue, white-brown, brown

I haven't made a cable in a while, I just "borrow" them from work, so I may be off.

the same i think ?

sorry reading from notes ,,,,(cript notes stuck to side of monitor) ,,,,,,didnt differentiate between several "bw" s

Actually he was right. You switch wires 1 and 3, and 2 and 6.

So 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 on one end and
3-6-1-4-5-2-7-8 on the other end

Or Orange/white - Orange - Green/white - Blue - Blue/white - Green - Brown/white - Brown on one end and

Green/white - Green - Orange/white - Blue - Blue/white - Orange - Brown/white - Brown

This is the ONLY way to setup a 100Mbit crossover ethernet cable.

*Note - colors can be different, but numbering MUST be the same. Wires 1 and 2 MUST be a twisted pair and wires 2 and 6 MUST be a twisted pair. This is necessary to take advantage of the noise cancellation properties of twisted pairs of wire.
