Can't set sound to map through...
Need Help! Customer is running a windows me machine.
I upgraded their motherboard and processor. I deleted the ENUM key, and installed new drivers for everything.
In the sound cpl, it does not recognize the onboard via audio controller. I mean, it does in devices, but when you go to the audio tab, all it has is one selection for voice modem, and gaming preferred device. I know the via audio controller should be there. I have no idea how to fix this.
Anyone got a hint, a lead? If i can't figure it out i'll have to wipe and reload.
Thanks in advance y'all.

Fist of all, check BIOS setting and make sure You have enabled on-board sound controller...
Then You need driver disk (what comes with motherboard) for installing VIA 4-in-1 drivers (can be also downloaded from VIA site) and drivers for AC97 codec...

Just to update people, Jza came into the chatroom...
He tried an sb live with the same result - drivers and devices all showing correctly in device manager, but in the multimedia section in control panel, there were no selectable sound devices (other than the modem )
The solution in the end was to format.
