Judging by the houses on either side, it looks to be a nice neighborhood, Congrats to ya.

And you thought waiting on the loan was making your heart thump, you havent even heard it yet. Watching them build your house is going to very nerve ratteling to say the least...

How long did they say it was going to take?

Congrats - but be prepared I've heard people nearly getting divorced over a house being built.

    btw- nice pic.

Ditto on what Poseidon said. You may want to get a prescription for prozac, valiums... anything to calm you down.

    Contractors... ug.

The total house is 1250 finished square feet plus a huge 1 car garage. I am actually gonna be going out their quite often just to make sure they're not cuttin' too many corners or any big corners. The superintendent over this is actually a pretty cool guy. I had a sit down with him and he's letting me come in while they're working on the house and install my own speaker wire in the walls in the living room for my surround sound and he's also letting me install all my own network cable. Most people are d*cks about you doing anything around the house so I thought this was pretty cool. I'm gonna have a network connection in all three bedrooms, the living room, the back porch and the garage!

That is cool. When my house was getting built, they wouldn't let me on the premises to install my own networking or speaker wire. I guess because they wanted to gouge the crap out of me with $3k for a 1 source - 1 room audio solution and anoth $1.5k for a 4 room networking solution. I needed about 5 valiums when I heard that, but that's what happens when you buy into a communist development. I'm currently walking my husband through the finer points of running CAT-5 cable.

Now that blows! I'd be either in the attic dropping CAT-5E or in the basement (or crawlspace, if you have one or the other) shoving CAT-5E to get my network up and running. Most contractors aren't that way. I certainly wouldn't hire one that put that kind of restriction on the home building process...
