    New MB

    Hi iam building a new PC and iam gonna go with the p4 2.4 gig cpu 533 fsb. My question is what MB should i go with. I want this machine to be as fast as it can be. also what RAM should i go with the DDR or the RDRAM iam not sure whats the best RAM to use....thx for any input....Born

    If you want the fastest thing today, get a P4T533-C with 1066 RAMBUS memory.

    The SiS 648 chipset looks fairly good, but I haven't seen anything based on it in the retail market yet.

    I would go for a board with DDR as RAMBUS is very expensive and tends to get a little hot, not to mention that you have to install it in pairs. As for what board, I cant help ya there, I have only built a handfull of P4 machines.

    i've used alot of the Asus P4B533 and the P4S533 boards and they are nice stable boards. i also just used a Abit SA7 that i really liked. it doesn't have raid or usb 2.0, but it has sound and lan and its fairly cheap, $85 at Newegg.
