Hi everyone,
I got a PCMCIA nic that when you plug in identifies as "2408lan" ethernet..
no FCC on the card, no maker or model number (isn't it nice)
I did some searching and found that it might be made by a comapny called "sky link" or by "dynamode".
Although dynamode's site is dead I found the driver in question but of course it's not the right one![]()
I gave up and posted here in hope someone could help but decided to try one more time this time using MSN search and not google and to my suprise I managed to find the driver on driverguide forums.
the funny thing is when I tried to install it automatically it installed as a realtek 8029 and didn't work. so I remove the driver, rebooted and reiserted the card this time I selected "let me choose" and voila I havea working NIC![]()
anyway, what started as a call for help is now just a tip - never give up quickly !
