Post Rebuilding TCPIP stacks in XP

How do I go about rebuilding the TCPIP stack in XP? I can't get ICS to work after trying everything. All necessary services are enabled. Installed and reinstalled NICS but no dice. In the process of all the install/reinstall, I have NIC and Lan connections like #2 or #3. I need to totally start from scratch but reluctant to reinstall XP pro....thanks

Boot to safe mode, remove all the nics and adapters for networking, ics and dialup. Shutdown. Physically remove the nic and modem.

Boot to normal mode. Confirm that all connections are gone. Shutdown the computer and put your hardware back in. Reloading drivers as necessary.

Go through this troubleshooting tutorial if it still doesn't work <a href="http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/troubleshoot/" target="_blank">at practically networked</a>

To Reinstall TCP/IP do the following:

    Navigate to: C:\windows\inf
    Find the File: nettcpip.inf
Right click the file and choose install

You haven't said whether this xp machine is a host or a client.. so thats about all I can offer at the moment.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

everytime I use norton ghost to restore a image I must reinstall tcp/ip for some apps like outlook to work.

I just right click my network places, then right click the adapter then click on tcp/ip and hit remove...Reboot.. then go back to your adapater and install tcp/ip with the add button.
