    "On the side"

Is using "On the side" an ok way of presenting one's self services??

Example: If I were to distribute a flyer selling my services (PC related), would it be appropiate to include the words "side work", "side business" or "On the side" in the description of the service if it was explained that one also works a full time job, but available weekends?

    TIA!!

That would make me extremely wary of anyone publicising themselves as that - kinda sounds like a hobby/amateur...

I'd propose completely side-stepping the issue and letting your clients know you are available evenings and weekends only (for now) instead of implying they'd be treated as a secondary priority.

If you want to do on the side work the best way is to state that they need to call for appointments, and if they want to have it done during your work hours just say that you have a customer at that time already...technically you do, if you look at it like your primary job a customer

I use the "by appointment only" line. Makes me look better and makes them feel important that I can squeeze them into my tight schedule.

I think InTheWayBoy and DocPC have an excellent idea there: "By apointment only"...
