    Question XP:recognizes cdwriter--Software: won't????

XP recognises my CD-writer. I want to burn a CD tru audioproduction-software Steinbergs "wavelab". Yet this software does not recognise neither my cd-romplayer or cd-writer????? On producers website is noticed that my writer is really supported. I also installed (in most cases unnessacary a patch for newest writersupport)
Why does the software not recognise the writer, what can i do?

Ok tanx for replying Noonoo, as i'm only working a few days with XP, i think the answer is to be found in what you call "native burning". I checked burn hard/software, that should be ok by now for XP.

Tell me more bout "native burning' please

Meanwhile checking this 'native burning' issue, when i check my "system/devices", i read my writer works perfectly.

On the other hand when i check my cd-writer-stations "properties", i read: device not connected/unbolt.

    Is this the "native burning"?

(sorry i have do not use the Windowswords/language coz i have a Dutch version

To stop the native burning - right click the cdrw in my computer, select properties, select recording tab, uncheck the recording box and REBOOT - it doesn't ask you to, but it needs it.

Already unchecked, so problem lies elsewhere.

I must say i made new partition, in where i installed my XP, so i run also win98se, i did so to explore the XP, while my main OS is still (for the moment) win98se.

So i checked ASPI-issues. I just did an Adaptec-ASPI-check. With result: ASPI is not properly installed. How do i install ASPI for XP, i'm not a pc-wizard, you have a simple solution? Could this be the cause of the problem?

    Tanx man for your reply
