Update from yesterday
I'm just back from the hospital after visiting Sophie who was the little girl that collapsed on me yesterday.
I got a message from the girls parents thanking me for helping yesterday and told me their daughter would like to meet me. So Smurfette and myself went up to the hospital where she was with a cuddly toy with a few balloons tied to it and a card. Mike and Laura the kids parents met us outside the ward and took us in to see Sophie. I was expecting to see the kid in a bed feeling sorry for herself but instead I found her running around bugging the hell out of the nurses. Its hard to belive this was the same kid that nearly gave me a heart attack when she stopped breathing.
Laura told me the doctors had done some tests and everything seemed normal, The docs explained that kids can sometime take convulsions like what happened yesterday and in SOME cases the siginal that tells the body to breath gets screwed up and the kid stops breathing. This can happen during or right after a convulsion. Seeing as she was out for a little while the docs had decided to monitor her for 48 hours just to make sure everything is OK and if it is she should get out tomorrow.
I gave her the toy and she thanked me for helping her and her mummy yesterday and gave me a big cuddle and a kiss. She even said she remember me being nice to her when she was on the floor. Must admit I felt my eyes were swelling up at this point from this. She told me it is her birthday in 2 weeks time and gave me an invitaion to her party. Awww cute its years since I've been to a kids birthday party
We spent an hour with them, before we had to leave and I must admit I have never met a nicer couple with the cutest kid.
I am glad I helped Sophie and I think we have also made some new friends in the process as well.
Most important looks like Sophie is going to be just fine.
Cheers

That is great! I am glad the parents took the time to show their appreciation. The whole family sounds like a really neat bunch of people!

Cherish that - it happens less and less that people are appreciative ("No good deed goes unpunished" ) and these folks are fine specimens, as you are also.
First the Goldeneye Kid, now this...

Papa, we truly are very proud of you. What you did took a lot. You are truly a hero.
Have a blast at the party.
