Hmmm.......seems to have too much time on his hands to make a proper website, a classic ninja in the making

The bo-shuriken[2 pointed] are way to thin and not long enough also the spikes are not pointed enough.
It would have been more realistic to use say a longish 6-8 inch heavy nail with the head cut off.
The second shuriken would have been more use as a senban-suriken [4- pointed star] as these are the most appropriate for attack/defence and are more likely to stick into a target as the more points there are the more they obtruct the depth of the blow, these were carried in sets of nine this being a holy number to the Ninja.
The shuriken were usually "poisened" by leaving in featal matter for several weeks prior to use to give a deeply infectious cut to the defender [this being the time of no anti-biotics] and could be used in several different ways the last resort being to use it to scar the users face prior to capture to prevent recognition.
Suriken were not only used by Ninja but also by Samurai as both a defencive and an attacking weapon with a maximum accurate range of about 30 feet but more usually used in close quaters battle.
One such attack being to throw several at a range of 3-4 feet at the defenders face to distract them whilst using your main weapon to despatch them quietly.
One classic defence from a shuirken attack is to kneel down behind your katana [sword] with it upright in an outstretched hand and fend the suriken of to the sides.
