    Outlook Express SMTP error???

Here's the problem: The customer uses Outlook Express on their brand new Dell Dimension 4500S with XP Home. They can recieve their e-mail fine with their dial-up connection, but if they try to send an e-mail they get an error message stating "An unknown error has occurred. Protocol: SMTP, Port: 0, Secure (SSL): no, Error Number 0x800C013B". I've checked the SMTP settings and POP3 settings. Incoming (POP3) is port 110 and outgoing (SMTP) is port 25. I have no idea where it's getting the Port 0 from. There isn't any firewall software installed nor is the XP internet firewall enabled. Any ideas?

I got the answer from Microsoft's Knowledge Base. When I initially looked it up, I looked in the Windows XP Home section, but when I broadened my search to include all Windows products I got a reference to the exact error in Windows 9x and Outlook Express 5. Somewhere along the line the Sent Items.dbx file got corrupted. All I had to do was rename that file. The next time Outlook Express starts, it recreates that file and everything works fine. Thanks.

I've always wondered about those particular words in Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar on Me", Garak. Thanks. Of course, now I'm going to have that song going through my head for the rest of the day, but there are worse fates.
