CDRW + win3.1
does anyone know of software either free or trialware that functions under win3.1? I have a customer who insists on using a duron 1.1 with 32mb and a 40x cd writer with dos 6.2 and win3.1 as his OS.
he will eventually be upgrading the o/s, except he first has to get new payroll software as the one he uses now only works under win3.1.

We've tried some of those mitsumi drivers in similar situations, and they don't seem to recognize anything much faster than a 12x writer..boy, with that processor that machine must really fly on 3.1 Maybe he needs a dual boot os with a partition shared for both os's to access for data.

No problem Noo.
Thought about dual-booting that baby, so he can stlll use his accounts software?
Or maybe an XP compatibility mode?

Only guess is a really old copy of Nero, or summin, but that probably wouldn't work with the drive.
Sorry, got me there - how's about the dual boot idea?

customer ended up taking as is. he will install 98 on it later and hope that it dosn't wack all his data. I re-assured him that it shouldnt touch his data as long as he does not do a clean install, but if he really wants, to bring it back later and I can back up his data on one of my hard drives before he starts the windows install.
Thanks for trying guys and gals!
