Motherboard documentation
I have a customer who "broke" the video port off of his motherboard. He needs the system back ASAP. I'm trying to find documentation on the motherboard to see if I can disable the onboard video using jumpers on the motherboard. The system is an HP Pavilion XE743. The motherboard is a Mercury G/810E. Thanks for any help you can offer.
P.S.--I've already tried putting a known good PCI video card in, but I still can't get any video on the screen.

a quick google search shows that it's most likely a stripped down version of an asus model MEW-AM.
may be tough as bigger OEMs tend to remove handy jumpers and more advanced CMOS settings. You may not be able to disable onboard video at all, but head over to asus and see if the manual for the model above looks like what you've got.

HP's are supposed to autodetect another video card and shut off the onboard... yah ok... but moving right along
Install the new video card and just disable the old one in device manager... works fine.

If you can't get in to device manager, even in safe mode, because of no video from the pci card, unplug the box and remove the battery for a few minutes to reforce the bios to detect. I assume HP removed any clear cmos jumpers on this board as well..
