removing old domains from network
I have been having a problem with one of the faculity at work and need to know how to fix it. He has been installing a second network card on a machine and dual booting it with 2k server.
Now this wouldn't bother me except everytime he does it, I look at the network and see the new domain he has created. I know it is supposed to go away after a certain amount of time as long as no computers are in the domain, but they aren't going. I know the machines he set up with server are no longer on the network (unplugging his cables from the wire closet takes care of that) and there are no machines connecting to that little domain. I want to know how to delete those domain listings from my network.
For an example of what I am talking about, we have 3 domains: primary, remote1, and remote2. Those are all that should be showing, yesterday I look at the list and see primary, remote1, remote2, and S5. How can I make that S5 no longer be there? Thanks for any and all suggestions.

If there was a trust relationships established between any of the existing domains, and the one that is "no longer”, this would keep the domain alive in your neighborhood. You can check trust relationships in User Manager under policies for NT4, for 2k it is in AD Domains and Trusts, you will have to look under properties for each 2k domain.

Our PDC is NT, and there are no trust relationships. Our few 2k server do not have active directory running. Any other ideas?
