1 day for Pitmans - they gave me a car told me to drive to Bradford from Bracknell - 4 hours 30 minute drive each way, to start at 9am in the morning, finish at 5pm and then return the following day.... When I got there they had one copy of word perfect with a cracked key and wanted me to install it on 35 machines and train 15 people how to use it.
When I enquired where I would be staying the night, they said drive home and return in the morning...

1 and a half nights. Night stocking job at a major grocery store starting with a k and ending in a roger. I was in college, got a lot of crap from the yokels. Second night kept getting yelled at for silly stuff, then they started making very rude remarks. I got up and left. Then spent 6 weeks making sure that they paid me for the time I worked.

1 day working in a dry ingredients factory. I was the new guy so they made me crawl into the dehydrator, which is a f'kn silo, and scrub the walls with a 25 ft. pole. Didn't stick around much after that.

During a lull in my then new computer repair business, I went to work for a temp agency. They sent me to a fiberglass mold shop to work for a few weeks. I arrived at the place, went in to meet the supervisor and get my assignment. He asked where my gloves, respirator, and coveralls were. I had been told that these items were provided. He said no, you need to have your own, but you can still work. I declined and left.
Seems you needed to purchase $300.00US worth of equiptment for a $3.35US (then) TEMPORARY job!
5 minutes........

Longest job...doing maintenence and grounds at a local tourist attraction. Spent like 4 and 1/2 years doing that. Loved it...thinking about going back to similar work and leaving the computer world behind.
Shortest job - worked at Cracker Barrell for a day as a busboy. Not even a full day, I got bored with training, went for a cigarette break, then came back and told the 500 year old retard who was training me that I had better things to do and left.

Worked for a caterer for one day back in '90. Worked my a$$ off all day for min wage Anyway I called for my schedule for the next weekend and told the guy I can't work on Sunday due to a previous commitment (I felt like going fishing).
Me: "I just want to let you know I can't make it in on Sunday, I already have a commitment with my family" (I was going fishing with my brother)
Them: (quite irate) "YOU WORK ALL WEEKEND OR YOU DON'T WORK AT ALL!"
Me: "Ha- Ha, Bye"

Last job was for about 4 years working for a local food chain. After that, I moved into my current position of 2 1/2 years doing all this fun, fun tech stuff. That's been it. I guess I'm bad at this game.

I worked for a major record retailer (*am *oody's) for about 2 days. It was a very messy quit, because I refused to frisk myself infront of the store when I was leaving for my break. I considered it degrading, and unnecessary and I was not going to do it. It was pretty nasty, because I quit infront of a crowd of people who gathered to watch while I cursed my boss out.
