Question Need HP LaserJet IIIp driver for Win98

Does anyone know where I can find the printer drivers that works for my HP 3p laserjet. I recently upgraded my computer to Win98 and I cannot locate the drivers that I need. If possible, could you direct me to them. HP does not have the correct drivers for 98. Only win 3 and 3.1. Any help would be great...

The drivers are included in Windows. Just open Control Panel/Printers and run the Add New Printer Wizard and select Laserjet IIIP from the list.

I have tried your suggestion. This was the first thing I tried. However, HP supplies it's computers with 3 System Recovery disks. The Win98 is hidden within these disks. The contents are hidden. So when it asks to install the Win98 disk, nothing can be locarted. The three system disks all look empty I asked HP, they also told me to place my 98 os in the cd. I notified them that this was immosible. They told me to go to their web site. Back at square one. No printer drives for me.

The following link talks about recovering a specific driver and/or program from the Recovery Disks:

If your system originally came with Win95, and now you've upgraded to Win98, they should be using the same driver.

Hopefully, this will get you flying once again...Good Luck!

    Thanks for the idea.

But... The HP recovery disks don't help with printer drivers. Also, When I said "upgraded", I shuld have said purchased a new computer with Win98". Sorry for the bad wording.

I tried finding the IIIP driver on my old hard-drive with no luck. The system crashed last week, so I hook my old hd up as a slave. I have to reinstall win befiore I can get it to run. After that, the driver will be lost.

    Exclamation

The particular file that you are looking for is HPPCL5MS.DRV. In Win98, this file is created when you unzip driver16.cab.

I will try to email this file to you...it looks like it's about 513KB.

Let us know how it goes...
