HP 4 Plus Network Printer Prob
Hi All,
I have an HP 4 Plus network printer that is running all of the words together (no spaces) when printing e-mail attachments, and some adobe docs.
I loaded the latest drivers form HP on the server (PLC5e for NT4 and Win98). But, the problem didn't go away.
Any ideas?

I hate to sound like an idiot, but, the only choises for that printer on HP site are PCL5e (updated 6/26/00) and "HP Laserjet AutoCAD 13/14 HP-GL/2 driver: (set of 2). So where might i find Postcript drivers or PCL6?

Just for grins, you might want to read up on PostScript (R) / PCL Comparison.
BTW, PCL6 is reserved for OS/2.
Also, how much memory do you have in that LaserJet? You might want to read up on PostScript (R) or Memory SIMM Installation, LaserJet 4 Plus and 4M Plus Printers.
Let us know how you get the problem resolved...

Well, I found a solution. In the printer properties > print Quality tab I switched the text mode from Auto to True Type as Bit map and the problem went away.
DonJ - Thanks for the info on postscript vs PCL. I wondered why all of the old 16/600 apple laser jets had so much memory.
Bye - KN
