No ram detected asus a7m266
Help! Had this board a while, thought I'd trashed it a year ago when accidentally replaced drive when unit was still plugged in and psu on but not powered up of course. After this I couldnt get board to post at all. Eventually gave up and sent board back to retailers, didnt tell them it could be my fault of course. They returned board saying no fault found. I tested board again and it was fine for about 2 weeks and then began to intermittantly fail to post. Have reflashed bios tonight in an Asus p2b, then replaced chip and board posted fine, then all of a sudden it starts giveing me no ram detected beep code. The ram is fine, tested in another board. I cannot find a solution! Have tried reseating everything, booting with no ram, and nothing exept agp connected. No case short, different sticks of ram used, all fine in abit kg7. Help again!

Re: No ram detected asus a7m266
Hi!
It could be cold soldering somewhere on the motherboard... have seen it quite a few times... if so,it is the worst problem...
Did you try to clear CMOS?
Did you try PCI or an ISA videocard?
Another PSU?
Is it possible to send that motherboard back to supplier again, or warranty is expired?

Have had a look for any obvious signs of damage and tried pci card (no isa) No joy at all. Am quite shocked the board would work fine for a few posts and now do this but it does seem dead. I think Asus give 3 yr warrenty? so will send it back to them with a bit of luck.
