Angry D-Link 'Cardbus' PC card NIC.

I just bought a D-Link 690 'CardBus PC Card' and slipped it into my 'Cirrus Logic PCIC Comaptible PCMCIA Slot'. No result.

    Any ideas why?

If I can't get this working, I have to go out and shell out another $30 and find one that is listed as PCMCIA.

PCIC/Compatible = 16 bit, i.e. Not cardbus. check if your laptop has a setting in the bios with regard to PC Card controller mode as like my old Toshiba libretto it had PCIC emulation for those (very very few) cards that wont work in a cardbus slot, otherwise I'd suggest trying to find a driver that actually suports your controller properly (If you know what it actually is) as this can also cause problems...
