Document content recovery question
Hi,
This is not an Office 2000 problem, its a user error. In an act that can only be described as a fit of madness, I accidentally replaced the contents of a Microsoft Word 2000 document with text from another document I had created. Then I saved it. I now need to get back the original contents of my original Word document. Is there any way I can do this? I put a lot of time and work into my original and I didn't create any other backup. Big mistake, I know ..... Please help. Thanks a million.
Best Regards,
Omar.

Did you had turn on the option in Word to "always create a backup copy when saving" prior to this incident?

Possibly, but very unlikely....check all the temp files that were modified at approximately the same time, if you find one that's about the same size, rename the extension from .tmp to .doc.
Like I said, highly unlikely, but still worth a try.

That didn't work. I found such a file, renamed it to .doc and then when I oprned it, it consisted of all funny looking characters and boxes. Any other ideas?
