    windows 98 usb problem

    i uninstalled a sony digital camera and since then non of my other usb devices work ( hp scanjet 4100c, logitec quick cam and microsoft optical mouse ). when i unplug them and plug them back in, windows find them but wont load any driver for them. any ideas?

    the software for all three has been uninstalled and reinstalled.

    Have you tried reloading the usb drivers from the Win98 cd- rom?

    You probably uninstalled related files. During Uninstall Windows often asks you if you want to delete which "are taking up space" but not doing anything. It is a good idea to keep these files because they often do things for other files. They are called shared files.

    I would reinstall the original device you uninstalled, and when you go to uninstall it, keep the files that Windows suggests you delete.
