Change Settings on a Limited Account

I am listed as the Admin on the Windows XP Home version running on my computer. I have three other user accounts for family members which are limited accounts. My problem is that I do not know how to change the power settings for a limited account. All three limited accounts have the monitor shutting down in 20 minutes and the hard drive in one hour.

How would I change these settings as a limited account does not have the required privlege level?

    Thanks,

    Jeff

Change the account rights on the limited accounts to Admin temporarily, then login on those accounts and make the changes, next log back on as your admin account and change the other accounts back to limited rights.

As far as I know you can't do that. You would need to elevate their status to either Power User or Administrator and make the change, then knock the status back down to User.

    Hope this helps.

Open control panel hold down shift and right click power options select run as put in your administrator name and password, change the setting and ok your way back to the desktop.
OH OH didnt read it quite well enough this works with XP Pro, might still work on home havent got that OS so cant say but worth a try.
