How do I make WinXP Automatically log in
Hello
we have 6 machines here in a lab of 50 that run windows XP. we would like to set them up to automatically login just like the rest of them. Novell 6 is running on the server. The "usernames" don't have passwords they just need to be set to log in automatically.. any ideas

Re: How do I make WinXP Automatically log in
Try this long winded document: http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/se...?/10052847.htm
Keep in mind this document was written before SP1 came out, and apparently Sp1 complicates things further. So it may work for you, it may not.

Mac is right.... HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\W inlogon\ForceAutoLogon=1
works if you have a single user at a single machine, but I have yet to find a solution from Novell or Microsoft if you have multiple users using one machine and want to use their Novell accounts to be the default to log on to WinXP. (unless you want to set up a NT server with domains) If I'm wrong let me know...I can see this being a huge prob for people running Novell servers.

There is a WinXP dynamic local user policy you can implement in NDS, so that when a user logs in successfully to NDS, an account is automatically created on the local machine and no more passwords are required. However, it doesn't work for me.
