    Question Printers folder disappears

    Hello,

Here's the problem: Got a HP LaserJet 4050 n. A peer-to-peer network of 5 comps. Two of these are Gateways (GP7 series). These two Gateways have problems... every once in a while, all the printers in the Printers folder will disappear.... can't print anything. The only way to fix them is to reboot them. This is a pain. Any ideas for a long-term fix?

It can't be the printer or the computer it's hooked up to because other comps on the net can still print when one of the Gateways flip.

    Thanks.

Sounds to me like one of two things. The first is that you have a virus. This is easy to do with computers on a network. The second is that the printer port is not enabled in the bios.

If you want to reenable it, restart your computer while holding down the F1 key. Go into your bios, press F5, this will reset everything to defaults. Then pressing F10 will save changes and exit.
If this doesn't work, it won't hurt anything, but I had a similiar problem awhile ago and this is what I did.
