Well, LG is a Japanese company....or are they Taiwanian or something? Anyway, I haven't heard of Kenmore introducing anything like that yet.
I think I'll skip on the MultiMedia fridge, but I do like the idea of a washer and dryer in one unit.

You know, that would be suprisingly easy to do. Hmmmmmm.... It would be sweet just as a project. And you're right. No fans necessary. You could use one of those mini systems and stick it in the butter/eggs section. Cut out a bit of the door for the monitor, and run the power lines out the back. create a pullout drawer for the keyboard/mouse. Hey, that would be one heck of a mod!

MP3's and the Radio while cooking and cleaning too. Pretty nifty. You could even set IE's browser to default to a favorite recipe site, and catalog all of Grandmoms old recipies in Access. Then import that online. What a great resource. No more need for those wipe boards, you could keep all notes and messages in Word.

they key to this idea (and it's a good idea) actually working would be good voice recognition.
no keyboard no mouse
look at the fridge "Media player, Open, playlist, favorites"
"recipes, view, cookies, chocolate chip"
"web, search, chicken marsala"
very cool (if it all worked)

Yes,I saw one on an old Hometime [American import DIY show] recently screened in the UK,seemed a good idea till you really thought it through.
You basically had to design your kitchen around the fridge so that you had a good view of the screen over your morning coffee.
Mind you it was a good excuse for a water cooled system even if a little on the big size.
