Ultimate Hard Drive Util?
Been trying to find a drive checker util.
Something that will be able to test all sorts of hard drives
I have been trying to get all the boot disks on a cd just in case, but that isn't going to help me when the computer won't boot to cd or i cannot get near another pc to make the disk
I tried the Ultimate Bootdisk, and it has fallen short of what i expected, far to complex for just simple use and confusing to use.
i am at a loss for what i should use. I have been trying to get my own Ultimate tech tool kit together and it is not going as smoothly as i figured it would.

Usually, you can get a freeware hd diag utility from the hd maker's website, like powermax from maxtor and use it on a separate boot disk. But that utility is desinged to work with just that drive most of the time, but they someitmes can be used for different hds.
But if you want to use 1 utility for all hd's then I found Ontrack to have the right one for you maybe.

Powermax I have successfully used on WD's and Seagates too, I just don't do the factory reset option unless it is a maxtor.
