Wired MSN Explorer problem
I ran across a strange problem on a winXP machine. This user is using the MSN Explorer, and is having a strange problem. Once you are open msn explorer then click on "email" to write an email with the msn explorer software your text in the text box is invisible. You also cannot copy and paste into the box.
When the send the email the person who recieves it can see what you typed but the person who typed it cannot. I have tried both msn explorer 7.0 and 6.1 to no avil, along with many uinstall/reinstalls. To me it sounds like some sort of activeX problem, but that is just a guess.
The system is a
XP 2000+,512ram,80 gig maxtor hd, nvidia 440mx, sb live 5.1, with windows XP.
Thank you
(I have also looked in the ms knowledge base with no luck, I dont know where to go next with it)

Nope, when I first heard about the problem, I was pretty sure that is what the user did, but it was not the case.

Nope, I meant to mention that. Email works fine by all other access methods besides through the built in client in MSN Explorer. This is one of the factors that make it so perplexing.

I think it is a overlooked setting (not meaning to sound rude) I hav'nt been able to recreate the error your having unless I change my screen font in MSN explorer,

I totally see why that would be a safe thing to assume. But I know this is not the case. The font being wite would not explain why the cursor(which is visible) does not move or blink when in the message box.
Also it wouldnt explain why one cannot copy and paste.

what happens if you type text, can you copy the blank text out of the box and paste it into word or something?

Dir I tried that and that does not work eaither. You cannot select/copy anything. It looks like the program freezes when you goto the email option. but it just looks that way and doesnt actually freeze.
It could very easily be a registry problem, I just used the ms uinstallers. Thanks for the idea I will look for a msn explorer removal utility so I can get rid of everything on the next reinstall.
Ill let you guys know what I come up with.
