Completing a .pdf file
Many of us have seen .pdf forms online before, but I'd like to know how can I enter the required information into the fields.
Is there a way to complete the form, so it prints out as a completed document?

In Acrobat Reader, you should be able to click on the area of the form and fill it out -IF- the PDF author has designed it that way. All the forms that you can download from the Province of Ontario's website have this feature. Here is an example:
http://www.forms.ssb.gov.on.ca/mbs/s...e/1057-82_.pdf
They even have a "clear all fields" button at the top of the form. The entries you make cannot be saved, unless you have the full-blown version of Acrobat, in which case you can pretty much do anything you want if the author hasn't protected the document.

What I'm trying to do is find a way to insert text into a .pdf file, so the document prints out with the answers to the questions. This way, it'll look as if someone had neatly typed in the answers.

Maybe I'm not understanding what you're trying to do. Are you trying to create a form yourself, or are you trying to complete the form that you obtained from somewhere else?

Yes, this is exactly what I'm trying to accomplish.

If that is what you are looking to do MacGyver already answered your question.
I assume you are using acrobat to view your pdf files, and unless the author has set it up so you can enter that info it isnt easily done. But you could do it with the full version of acrobat unless it is protected.
You will find that most .pdf files you cannot fill in responces/edit with out the full version of acrobat.
Good luck.
