    Hercules Muse XL sound problem

Am using Win 98 with a Hercules Gamesurround Muse XL soundcard.

Have Aux In and CD In both connected. Aux has very high volume, while CD volume has dropped very low. Mixer volume control has little effect.

    There's also a manufacturing fault....

If Gary's driver links don't help....

Apparently (! I've never heard a support department say this before....)....

Okay the ones I've tried all seem to exhibit this fault, except the ones with 3 cd connectors, labelled cd1, cd2 & aux, the fix is to use cd1 & 2 ... not aux....

I guess there is a later revision of the card, & the ones with two connectors only are the older ones, those with 3 the newer, I was advised to swap out those that needed two connections to the cards I had with three connectors (if anyone's following this!)...anyways it worked & now I'm buying the Hercules Muse DVD cards instead, which work....apparently

I tried asking Hurcules tech support, and got the response:
"As default, it is normal for the Aux In to have a geater input gain then the CD Rom input. New drivers are coming out tomorrow, so you might want to give them a shot."
They wouldn't admit to a manufacturing fault would they?
