Are these as buggy as the old 40 series?

So many problems.
I've tried it on a bunch of machines. The 40.xx Detonator seems to be a steaming POS. I am pretty stunned.
NVidia what the hell are you playing at. You're off the top performance spot and what was your forte, driver support, is rapidly descending into the can.
Sort your selves out. If you aren't carefull, before you know it the love AMD hate Intel crowd will be back in your corner.

They prolly handed off these drivers to the less skilled guys and have the best guys working on the new stuff.

I have to ask...
Why all the complaining about BETA drivers?
Don't the officially released versions do the job for the most part? You have to expect some bugs. I don't believe this reflects negatively on nVidia - but you'd be right if the official releases weren't up to par. This is coming from an avid 3Dfx fan who loathes the fact that nVidia basically killed off their competitor's quality products.
BTW, I have no problems with this new brew under WinXP SP1 so far.

Fair point about beta. Thing is though, that's what was offered by default on the site.
I chose the card and OS and out it came.
Beta always used to be for the developers part of the site only. (Then leaked "accidentaly" to the OC'ers sites) It's a mistake to change that policy.
As soon as I select the advanced tab part of the driver, (on a clean install of XP too I might add) It crashes and sends a love letter to MS.
I thought the straight forward old layout for drivers was much better.
Sell the shares quick.
And Control Enter STILL wont let me post a reply.

I dont get it.... I do programming myself and I would never let something like that slip by me, especially If I was getting paid for it. So beta or not things like that should not happen PERIOD! Small bugs maybe, but not this

I found that the 40.7.2 detonator drivers are garbage, I have gforce 3 ti 200 with 128 mgs ddr memory
Under properties it only reported 64 megs, I got to reinstall XP
These same drivers gave my a Windows protection error on my other system with an Asus v 7700 gforce 2 card
And this is progree, No wonder we can't get a man back on the moon, the darn L E M would crash in more ways than one
I think nvidia better wake up or ATI will blow by them
