Problems after installing SP3
After installing SP I get the following errors:
The Logical Disk Manager Administrative Service service terminated with service-specific error 3238002692.
cannot open \Device\DmControl\DmConfig: The system cannot find the path specified.
Failed to open event \Device\DmControl\VxKernel2VoldEvent, Error=-1073741766.
The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
dmio
How can I rectify these problems??

OK, just to clarify you said SP3 in your thread title and then said SP1 in your text... please clarify which.
Do you have raid?
What are the systems specs?
What is the event ID?
So far the error messages relate to Disk management and dynamic volumes... need a bit more info to help you further.

Sorry, I mean SP3. I have no RAID and the system is a Celeron 500, 256 Mb memory, 20 GB HD. I must check the event ID's.
Event ID's:
dmio: 7026
failed to open etc: 3004
DmConfig problem: 1500

I'd suggest uninstalling Sp3 or checking the Microsoft KB for info.
Are you running Pro or Server?

I use Pro and I am a bit reluctant to uninstall SP3, just have not enough faith!
I couldn't find any information in the KB w.r.t. my questions.

If you're concerned about your machine getting hosed if you uninstall Sp3, I would suggest ghosting the drive beforehand.
Another thing to try would be to boot into the Recovery Console and try replacing dmconfig.dll with the version that comes with Sp3. It could be that the Sp3 installation didn't correctly copy the file.
To extract the Sp3 files, open a cmd prompt, browse to the directory you have the installer in, and type win2ksp3.exe -x You will be prompted for a directory to extract the files to. Choose something like C:\temp. Once extracted, grab dmconfig.dll and copy it to C:\WINNT.
To install the Recovery Console, insert your Win2K cd and open a cmd prompt. If your cdrom is on your D: drive, type D:\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons. Reboot, and choose the Recovery Console. You will need the Administrator password. Once in the console, rename %systemroot%\system32\dmconfig.dll to dmconfig.dll.old and copy the dmconfig.dll you extracted from Sp3 (from C:\WINNT) into the %systemroot%\system32 directory. Reboot and cross your fingers
Good luck!
